Emma is OGL's legal luminary, providing advice on all legal matters, as well as overseeing people management and development.
My career journey has been predominantly in-house legal work and managing HR teams. My previous role involved successfully growing a small legal expenses insurance company, and managing a team of solicitors, paralegals and admin staff, which included one of OGL's company solicitors from many years ago!
Advise on all legal matters, compliance and risk associated with running our business, together with helping the business to manage our most valuable resources, our people, and seek out the best talent, nurture and retain existing talent and encourage all employees to develop and be engaged within the business.
Seeing our people excel as individuals and as a team; and knowing that I am contributing and making a difference to a successful, ethical and growing business.
Be innovative in your ideas, embrace challenges and be willing to change and adapt.
I love a challenge, the varied nature of my work and the interaction my role has with all aspects of the business.
Work hard and play hard and make the most of every opportunity. Always maintain your professionalism, be fair and reasonable at all times, and treat other people the way you would like to be treated, even if it's not reciprocated.
I love the freedom of exploration and travel, whether descending a deep pothole, sea kayaking or climbing a mountain. I'm very involved in voluntary cave rescue work, as Training Co-ordinator for Midlands Cave Rescue Organisation, and Trustee & Secretary of British Cave Rescue Council. I also enjoy a pint of real ale or cider, and live music.
