My Story

What did you do before joining OGL?

My background is diverse, but primarily focused on operational leadership roles in sales, customer service, and support functions. I've gained extensive experience in both regulated and non-regulated environments, having worked with organisations such as The Cooperative Group, Sage Software, and United Utilities.

How did you land your role at OGL?

My journey with OGL began in 2017 when I received a call from Mark, a member of the HR team at the time. His interest in my CV led to an initial chat, which, though not tied to a specific role initially, laid the groundwork for what has become a fulfilling career. At the time, I was contemplating a move from Manchester to Worcester, and the opportunity at OGL aligned perfectly with my plans.

Starting out in the Account Management team, I quickly immersed myself in working with our prof.ITplus customers, where I achieved successes in driving sales and fostering strong customer relationships. Over the years, I transitioned into a role focused on creating Customer Success Management strategies for Profit4, where my ability to understand customer needs and effectively utilise our solutions and services for their benefit became evident.

Throughout my time so far, I've continually enhanced my leadership skills and deepened my understanding of OGL, our customers and the marketplace in which we work in. This evolution culminated in the opportunity to step into my current role, where I bring together my prior leadership experience and extensive knowledge of OGL to drive success for both our teams and our customers.

Tell us a bit about your role

I am responsible forthe leadership and continued development of our Delivery teams, which include Project Leaders, Data Analysts, Implementation Consultants and Administration Support. I am continually analysing productivity data and optimising our time and project capacity. I work very closely with other heads of departments and our Chief Operating Officer to improve efficiencies and processes.

In my capacity in being responsible for Customer Service I am always looking at ways to improve the customer journey from onboarding post sale to Go Live and beyond, ensuring we can and do always deliver a first-class service and experience. Designing and collaborating on new processes to improve quality, increasing productivity and profitability. This means consistently looking at ways to upskill, develop and empower teams whilst reviewing the technologies and processes we use throughout the business.

What are you most proud of in your job role?

The current journey we are on as a business is a proud moment for me. Having the opportunity to review everything we do and how we deliver to our customers is truly fulfilling. We have undertaken some of the biggest changes in processes, frameworks, and technology since the launch of Profit4 in 2019. I am incredibly proud of the changes we have made and will continue to make, as these changes are making a positive impact not only on our teams but also on our customers. This hard work has recently been recognised, culminating in winning an award for Best Use of Technology.

I am incredibly proud of everyone within Delivery and across OGL Software. The focus, positivity, and dedication is amazing to witness and be a part of.

What's the best thing you've learned during your time at OGL?

Collaboration and bringing people together is critical to everyone's success.

What do you like most about working at OGL?

Personally, it is that everyone is free to be their authentic selves. Having the freedom and support to be who you are enables you to give your all and believe in what you are doing.

Professionally, it is being part of something that is constantly evolving and moving forward. Our products and services genuinely make a difference to businesses throughout the UK, and I have the privilege of witnessing this impact daily. Knowing that I play a role in this journey is immensely rewarding.

Furthermore, being in an environment where innovation is valued and encouraged allows me to continuously learn and grow. It's not just about the present accomplishments but also about the potential for future achievements and being a part of that journey is motivating.

Overall, being part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to driving positive change.

What's the best career advice you have been given?

Maintain a clear vision, question everything, value integrity and treat people with kindness.

What do you get up to at the weekend?

I love cooking up new dishes and trying out different gins and wines. Traveling is a big part of my life too, where I get to explore new places and cultures.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

I have a very clear memory that I wanted to work in forensics. As I grew up, and watched a few more horror films, the desire to go into forensics left me quite quickly.
