Chelmsford Safety Supplies (Chelmsford) is a family-run business, with over 30 years of experience providing safety supplies, personal protective equipment (PPE) and personalised clothing and apparel, throughout the UK.
Chelmsford also offers an extensive selection of products online, ranging from personalised corporate clothing and corporate polo shirts to safety supplies.

Prior to implementing OGL Software, the team at Chelmsford were running their business using an outdated paper-based system.
"It was OK when we were getting small numbers of orders a day," says the Director. "But, as we grew, it just wasn't scalable as processes were too manual and mistakes were being made".
So, they did their research and had a look at what the market had to offer. The Director explains: "We considered other systems, but OGL was recommended to us by others and for us, word of mouth counts more than anything. OGL is a family-run business that has been running for a long time and this gave us security."
Once successfully signed up to OGL Software, the next crucial aspect was to ensure that Chelmsford was trained and completely set up for success.
At OGL, this process is completed in-house by our highly experienced consultants, which Chelmsford was keen to discuss: "Moving from a paper-based system to ERP software is a big step forward for any business, so it was essential we were supported through every step of the transition. From day one when we were trained, through to any day-to-day questions with our Account Manager, training from OGL has always been very thorough and we've felt fully supported throughout".
Upon implementation of OGL Software, Chelmsford has seen several improvements in terms of customer service, efficiency, and productivity. The Director explained:
"OGL Software has saved us so much time. Rather than searching through mountains of paperwork we now get an automatic update sent through to tell us which quotes, and opportunities, need following up".
He continued: "One of our favourite features is the Customer Details window, which has helped us provide a much better service to our customers. When a customer calls us, we now have all of the information we need in one easy-to-see place."
With its modular structure, Chelmsford has taken full advantage of several of OGL Software's additional features to suit their business needs.
Since installing OGL's Warehouse Management System, Chelmsford can now pick, pack, process returns, scan goods and perform stock counts in record time.
"The Warehouse Management System has become an invaluable part of our business. Having this in place has helped us to improve order accuracy by reducing picking and shipping errors.
"Being able to assign barcodes to products and locations with our barcode scanners has also helped to accelerate our stock activity."
"We now have over 150,000 items available for next-day delivery, which would not have been possible before implementing OGL's Warehouse Management System. Additionally, we now do a perpetual stock take, so we no longer need to shut down, saving precious time".
OGL Software also helps Chelmsford understand exactly how their inventory is performing, so they can invest in the areas of their business that will have the optimum impact on growth.
"OGL Software gives us a better, more holistic view of our data. This is essential for allowing us to easily analyse our sales performance to ensure we are continually improving."

Chelmsford also chose OGL to develop their eShop, chelmsfordsafety.co.uk, which also integrates with OGL Software:
"The website has been massive for us and 45% of our sales now come in from our website. Using the online portal, customers can check the status of their orders without emailing or calling in. We have also listened to our customers and tailored our website to them. Customers can now select and order their own clothing from a bespoke pre-selected wardrobe, tailored entirely around their needs."
As they look to the future, Chelmsford can feel confident with OGL Software.
"OGL Software is scalable and it's growing with us, so as we increase our sales it's able to accommodate our growth," the Director told us.
