A huge congratulations to Simon Brooke-Bills who recently celebrated his 10th anniversary at OGL.
Simon looks back on the last 10 years:
"I had been working for the family antiques business for a few years prior to joining OGL and really felt that it wasn't the route I wanted to take with my career. I had always had a keen interest in all things technology and IT related so I decided it was time for me to make a change!
"I originally applied to OGL for a 1st Line Technical position way back in 2011. After having my initial interviews with Karen Hughes I was offered the role of Technical Courier within the business, which I promptly jumped at. From here I moved to the Stores and spent a few years developing my knowledge of all the kit and technology that came through our hands with the help of the Workshop team whenever I got chance.
"In 2015 the role of Internal IT Engineer became available and I knew instantly this was the job for me! I applied, and was over the moon when I was offered the role. Working originally under Karen Hughes and now under Colin Dennis with Rob Wilcox we look after all the internal systems and endpoints for the business, and this has been my biggest test to date and one I've thoroughly enjoyed. Not only do I get to meet everyone within the business I also have a truly diverse range of daily tasks and long term projects to undertake which keeps it very interesting indeed.
"I have loved every moment of my career at OGL so far and believe the people really make it an enjoyable and engaging place to work. Here's to the next 10 years!"
Rob Wilcox, Simon's manager, commented:
"Simon has come a long way since he started at OGL 10 years ago as Technical Courier. He joined the Internal IT department 5 years later where he embraced the role with his in-depth knowledge of PC building.
"He is always willing to assist where needed and is never afraid to take on a project, no matter how big.
"Simon is always smiling and an absolute pleasure to work with.
"Here's to another 10 years Simon, well done!"
