Robert Moseley marks 5 incredible years with OGL!

A huge congratulations to Robert Moseley who recently celebrated his 5-year Long Service milestone.

We caught up with Robert to find out more about his time at OGL so far:

"My OGL story began at my old retail job, where I was encouraged by Jamie Wilson to apply for a position at OGL. That evening, I submitted my application for a 1st Line Software Support role. After two interviews, I was offered the job - though, in hindsight, it’s probably a bit late to put Jamie down for the Employee Referral Scheme!

My first month at OGL flew by. I spent my time working through the support inbox, taking my first phone calls, and trying to learn as much as I could about prof.ITplus. I focused on raising incidents effectively and providing the best support I could. However, just as I was getting into the swing of things, the COVID-19 outbreak hit, and we transitioned from working in the office to working from home - a completely new experience for me.

Fortunately, with the support of my colleagues on the prof.ITplus team, I was able to adapt. Their guidance helped me learn a great deal about the product and improve my skills, enabling me to handle an increasing number of support incidents with confidence.

When we returned to the office, I was offered a chance to assist Web Support. My first task was adding all existing websites into a service called Cookie Script, which we still use today. This was just a small taste of what was to come. At the end of 2022, I was thrilled to be offered the position of Associate Web Support Engineer.

Being part of the Web Support & Web Services team has been an incredible experience. I’ve learned so much, especially from Alex Pitchford, who has patiently answered my endless questions. The Web Support role has provided me with exposure to a wide range of OGL products, from the original eShop1 websites to the current eShop2 platform, Channel Hub, Web Connector, and now the Profit4 eShop2 Connector.

During my time in Web Support, I’ve had a few memorable moments. One of my favourites was when I advised a customer to call back and ask for "Rob in Web" if they needed further assistance. This led to a hilariously confused call from 1st Line Support, where the customer asked for "Robin Webb." To this day, Alex still calls me Robin Webb!

It’s been a fantastic journey so far, and I’m excited to see where the future at OGL takes me."

During this time, Rob has been fantastic in managing the web support list with Alex, consistently maintaining a positive and supportive attitude towards customers and his colleagues. His enthusiasm for web projects, particularly the Web Connector, has been evident in everything he does. His efforts set a fantastic example for the team, and his contributions have made a significant impact.
