North Worcestershire Economic & Regeneration Development (NWedR) and RSA Academies have won the award for Innovative Partnership of the Year thanks to OGL.
North Worcestershire Economic & Regeneration Development (NWedR) and RSA Academies have won the award for Innovative Partnership of the Year in the West & South West by the Careers & Enterprise Company.
The award highlights how the organisations support young people in their careers education to inspire and inform them before entering the world of work, with the initiative Opening Doors to Business.
Our Operations Director at OGL, Neil Morris, is a member of the board at NWedR and continues to be closely involved in the Opening Doors to Business initiative that was the brainchild of OGL three years ago. RSA Academies said: "Opening Doors to Business has positively changed perception amongst schools, employers and young people as to what their locality offers in terms of their future and life beyond school. We are very excited to have won this award, in partnership with NWedR."
Claudia Harris, Chief Executive of The Careers & Enterprise Company, said:
"Preparing young people for the fast-changing world of work has never been more important. There is incredible work going on in schools, colleges, employers and more across the country. We hope these awards are a small way to say thank you and shine a light on this amazing work."
Opening Doors to Business has been so successful that it continues to gain momentum across North Worcestershire. The programme gained traction in Redditch last year and this year is being introduced to Bromsgrove.
Dean Piper, Head of NWedR said:
"Opening Doors to Business is a sustainable, accessible and effective way of introducing young people to the workplace and opens their eyes to the unlimited possibilities available to them."
