A huge congratulations to Jacob Gollings who recently celebrated his 5-year Long Service milestone.
We caught up with Jacob to find out more about his time at OGL so far:
"I first heard of OGL when I applied for my Technical Sales Apprenticeship and OGL Computer (as we were known then) was one of the companies involved. I then joined OGL on the apprenticeship scheme on the technical sales side and was on that side of the company until after the COVID lockdown, and I then moved across to the software side of OGL and haven’t looked back since.
My biggest achievement so far has happened relatively recently when I managed to get my first sale of Profit4. This was a massive milestone in my career at OGL and since progressing from booking appointments to my hybrid new business sales role."
Jacob's manager, Claire Jones, commented:
"Congratulations Jacob, on your 5-year anniversary! Jacob first started as a Technical Sales Apprentice working with Intequal and once he completed his course he became a firm fixture with the sales teams, on the phones booking appointments for new business. Jacob quickly learned the industry sectors that we work with, as well as our competitors, and was eager to learn more about the software itself. He worked in the newly formed Profit4 sales team during the pandemic and was consistently booking quality appointments for some of those early sales such as JC Walwyn in 2021. In fact, in 2022 30% of his appointments went to sale (Terraspan, Toptower Ltd, CleanMy etc) which is an incredible conversion rate, proving he knew how to target the market successfully with Profit4 (how he does it so quietly though is still a mystery to me)!
Jacob’s determination to succeed and his consistently positive approach brought further sales success in 2023 for the team, so much so that it was his time to learn the software in more detail and start to delve into selling systems himself. Jacob jumped at the opportunity and with some guidance and mentoring from the guru that is Kevin Crowe late in 2023, he has risen to the challenge and I’m sure will agree he’s learnt a lot just in the last 10 months of his career at OGL Software. Jacob has an incredibly difficult role working in a hybrid capacity to book his own appointments, sometimes just from working his own CRM data and contacts, others with help from marketing activity, but still having to have the prospect customer commit to that appointment, take them through a fact find, then to a demonstration, followed by ideally a proposal and then close, is no mean feat and Jacob has achieved independent sales, on-boarding new customers successfully which is testament to his drive, focus and willingness to learn. I’m sure there are many more successes to come for Jacob and this is just the start of your independent sales career, and we can’t wait to see you flourish in the role in 2025 and beyond."
Jacob's colleague, Dominic Keegan, also added: “Well done on your 5 year anniversary! I remember when Jacob moved over from technical telesales during covid. Very quickly he came out of his shell and became one of the Farmhouse Profit4 sales team. Jacob has really grown his domain knowledge and skills in the last few years and that is now paying dividends in the sales he is winning.”
