A huge congratulations to Ian Boyle who recently celebrated his 10-year Long Service milestone.
We caught up with Ian to find out more about his time at OGL so far:
"Wow! Where have the last 10 years gone?? It certainly doesn’t feel like 10 years ago when I applied for my first role at OGL as Project Co-ordinator in the Web Services Team at the tail end of 2014! After being made redundant from the previous company where I had worked for 13 ½ years, I was overjoyed to be offered the role after a 2-stage interview process with Dario Brenni.
After a few months in the role, it became apparent that we needed to extend the team to enable me to properly manage the projects and, 9 months into the role, I was promoted to Project Leader. The team grew over time, and we employed another Project Leader to work alongside me.
In 2018, I was promoted again to Web Services Manager during which I managed the web team and key complex website projects for almost 3 ½ years. This was especially challenging during Covid and the first lockdown when our 2 Web Project Leaders were both furloughed which meant I had to solely manage all the Web Services’ Projects during those fateful crazy first few weeks of lockdown. I was certainly relieved when we were back to full capacity within the team but overall, I was proud at how we all coped and flourished during a very unique time I don’t think we’ll ever experience again.
In 2021, I was then promoted to the role of Senior Project Leader to focus solely on Project Delivery, working with Helen and Jo managing the web projects. An opportunity then came up last August to join the Profit4 Software Delivery Team, which is my current role (whilst still working with the Web Services team on prof.ITplus to Profit4 Transitions). After a period of shadowing the other Project Leaders, Diane, Sally and Sophie I now have my own projects which I’m looking forward to delivering over the coming months.
Looking back at the last 10 years, my favourite part has been working alongside some great people at OGL but especially those within the Web Services and Software Delivery Teams. I’ve always felt fully supported by the fantastic management and senior management teams including Dario, Andrew and, more recently Carl who have helped me to achieve my full potential. Here’s to the next 10 years at OGL! 😊"
Dario Brenni (who was Ian's manager for most of his 10 years), commented: "We are celebrating a remarkable milestone for Ian who has been an integral part of Web Services and now Profit4 for an incredible 10 years.
From the moment he joined us as a Web Administrator, it was clear that Ian had the dedication and drive to make a real impact. In fact, even before he officially joined, his persistence in seeking updates on his application was a sign of things to come! I knew then that he would thrive in the project world, chasing down customers and their deadlines with the same tenacity. His keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence quickly set him apart, and it wasn’t long before he progressed to the role of Project Leader. In this position, he played a key role in delivering successful projects, collaborating with teams, and ensuring our clients received the best possible solutions.
As his leadership skills continued to shine, Ian took on the responsibility of managing the team, fostering a culture of teamwork, and continuous improvement. His ability to lead by example has earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
But Ian’s journey didn’t stop there. With his wealth of experience and strategic mindset, he stepped into the role of Senior Project Leader, further solidifying his influence within the organisation. In this role, he’ll be instrumental in driving complex projects forward, managing key stakeholders, and continuously pushing for excellence in everything we do.
Throughout the years, Ian has not only been a leader but also a problem-solver, a mentor, and a valued team player. His commitment, passion, and unwavering dedication have left a lasting impact on the business and the people around him.
On behalf of everyone at OGL, we extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for his 10 years of outstanding service. We look forward to many more years of success and collaboration together!
Congratulations, Ian! 🎉"
